Schilling WTF?

Ok...so he signs an incentive laden $8M deal for '08 and everybody's dancing in the streets. Now it comes to light that he has a potentially serious shoulder problem that could potentially wipe him out for the season, thus ending his career?

I'm still trying to make sense of this. He said on his blog that before he signed the contract, he passed the Sox physical exam. At what point in time between the contract signing and now did he eff up his shoulder?

The L&C diary demands answers dammit!

If he had a pre-existing condition, how did he pass his physical? I'm fairly certain MLB physicals require MRIs. If not, than it's gotta be a requirement for all pitchers given the nature of the position (strain on the arm).

I'd be stunned if the Sox didn't administer one to the 41 year old Schill who's went under the knife on more than one occasion for shoulder problems, and has a recent history of injury/arm fatigue.

Something smells fucking fishy! Either the Sox didn't do their due diligence, or Schill had a pre-existing condition that somehow went undetected that was made worse with his off-season training. Who knows how hard he was going trying to make weight?

I want answers! C'mon Curt, I know you ain't shy to speak your mind. Now is not the time to start. Give the L&C diary the exclusive scoop, you blowhard philanthropist!

Hi guys,

I don't have many things in common with baseball, but I do have the same name with you Lavinius. My complete name is Lavinius Marcu.

I am from Bucharest, Romania. All my life I’ve met only two other guys with my name and one is my godfather’s son and the other is my godfather’s godfather son  So, I was surprised to find another Lavinius and especially living in America which is not a Latin country.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and maybe I’ll become a baseball fan 
