Of course that's been an issue. But not everyone goes out and buys shredders. Some people (stupidly) ball their records up and throw them in the trash- thinking that'll be enough.
Me? I have records dating back six years. When I do decide to discard something, I tear it up manually. I know I can't be alone in this methodology.
To free up some salary cap room for the shredder, I'm putting my Atari 2600 on ebay...
