Papelbon on pace for 81 saves...

When's the last time a Sox closer had 7 saves this early in the season?

I don't have the answer to that, but alls I know is that I'm not used to feeling so comfortable in the 9th inning.

Of course, we gotta give props to Adam Stern for lending a helping glove to the proceedings...

stern has flashed some leather in the short time he's been here - if he could hit his weight (shit, if he could hit alex cora's weight), he'd be a nice platoon option all year long. however, he's likely to get optioned back to the minors, considering the sox just purchased dustan mohr's contract from pawtucket.
